This looks delicious! And I do love one-bowl cakes, so much easier to clean up.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this on the linky party, it's always nice to read the blogs of people who visit regularly.
The cake has certainly been a winner at home and at work. How I love the old cookbooks.
DeleteI would absolutely love to own an old CWA cookbook!! This cake looks and sounds yummy, thanks so much for sharing your recipe!
ReplyDeleteYour welcome Jode. I have a few favourite cookbooks but this one is a real treasure
DeleteJust popped over from Mrs Acidents link up. My youngest son (5) 'bought' me a newly published CWA Cookbook for mother's day, it's terrific, it's full of old recipies used when entering baking competitions, I've made about 4 of the recipies so far, and besides the Brownie recipie, (which was nothing like today's brownies, but still tasted lovely) everything I have baked is a winner!
ReplyDeleteYes it is a favourite cookbook of mine. Can't beat CWA cookbooks they are truly fantastic
DeleteThat cookbook looks magnificent! I spend my time trawling op-shops for little treasures just like that! So great that the recipes are still used..the oldies are always the goodies.
ReplyDeleteI have a few old cookbooks that I inherited from mum but this is my favourite.
DeleteLove the old recipes, I use alot of them...they are tried and true...and always seem to work better than the new ones....
ReplyDeleteYes I have quite a few cookbooks but this is one of my favourites
DeleteI collect old cookbooks and am a CWA member...my CWA ladies have given me many of their old ones...they are truly treasures...don't you love when they have shopping lists jammed in them, notes in the margin, cut outs from old magazines yellowed with time?
ReplyDeleteI've ducked in from Mrs A's link party and wanted to say hi and I love your blog :)
Thank you for stopping by and checking out my blog. I really enjoy cooking and especially from the old cookbook.
